Hollow Gold Nanoparticles Loaded with L-Buthionine-Sulfoximine as a Novel Nanomedicine for In Vitro Cancer Cell Therapy

نویسندگان

چکیده

A novel nanomedicine, constructed by simultaneously binding L-buthionine-sulfoximine (BSO) and thiolated polyethylene glycol (PEG) to the surface of 100 nm hollow gold nanoparticles (HAuNS), was expected be used in effective therapeutics cancer. The current study is aimed at evaluating vitro antitumor efficacy newly synthesized BSO-loaded PEG-SH-HAuNS (BSO@HAuNS) with strong resonances near-infrared (NIR) as a chemotherapy agents against line human lung cancer cells (A549). Here, we conducted cytotoxicity assays found BSO@HAuNS efficiently kill ROS generation, indicating that BSO facilitated an increased susceptibility PEG-SH-HAuNS. Based on flow cytometry analysis, can induce apoptosis necrosis mitochondrial-dependent pathway A549 cells. Our results revealed class nanomedicine high potential implemented for patients diagnosed unresectable

Gold nanoparticles as novel agents for cancer therapy.

Gold nanoparticles are emerging as promising agents for cancer therapy and are being investigated as drug carriers, photothermal agents, contrast agents and radiosensitisers. This review introduces the field of nanotechnology with a focus on recent gold nanoparticle research which has led to early-phase clinical trials. In particular, the pre-clinical evidence for gold nanoparticles as sensitis...

Glutathione depletion by L-buthionine sulfoximine antagonizes taxol cytotoxicity.

Taxol is a naturally occurring chemotherapeutic agent that is active against a variety of tumors. Taxol is believed to act by binding tightly to microtubules and preventing their disaggregation. Others have shown that depletion of cellular glutathione results in the disaggregation of microtubules, presumably by allowing the oxidation of some or all of the cysteine residues in tubulins. We studi...

Chemoimmunotherapy as a Novel Cancer Therapy

Over the past decade, it was widely accepted that some chemotherapeutic drugs can be combined with immunotherapeutic drugs in treatment of cancer. Chemotherapeutic drugs can induce apoptosis in the tumor cell and at the same time stimulate the immune response. Several reports support the use   immunomodulators in treatment of cancers through regulating the immune response and boosting the micro...

Photothermal therapy of cancer cells using novel hollow gold nanoflowers

This article presents a new strategy for fabricating large gold nanoflowers (AuNFs) that exhibit high biological safety under visible light and very strong photothermal cytotoxicity to HeLa cells under irradiation with near-infrared (NIR) light. This particular type of AuNF was constructed using vesicles produced from a multiamine head surfactant as a template followed by depositing gold nanopa...
